At Caurnie, we take great pride in nurturing our very own organic herb garden, where Lavender, Thyme, Sage, and Bog Myrtle grow abundantly. These precious herbs are carefully harvested, hung, and dried in our Soaperie building, all sourced from the picturesque landscapes of central Scotland. One of our beautiful gardens surrounds the Soaperie, showcasing the commitment we have to crafting the finest body care products.

Our herb garden boasts over 20 diverse types of herbs, thoughtfully cropped and integrated into our exclusive range of body care products. Notably, we've been tending to a Yarrow lawn for over 19 years, cherishing the timeless wisdom of Celtic remedies.

During the era of ancient Celts, a wide array of plants found utility for various health applications, showcasing the community's profound understanding of native herbs. While several of these botanicals demonstrated significant worth, others leaned on the power of linked rituals and enchantments for expected effects. To illustrate, utilising a hemlock poultice coupled with precise invocations was thought to combat skin ailments effectively in specific scenarios. Additionally, heather was employed as a treatment for ulcers and worms. Its antiseptic and diuretic properties were highly regarded, disinfecting the urinary tract and promoting urine production. As a liniment, heather was used to alleviate rheumatism, arthritis, and gout, while a hot poultice offered a traditional remedy for chilblains. Infusions of the flowering shoots were beneficial in managing coughs, colds, bladder, and kidney disorders.
